Sustainable Energy Suited For Our Earth? - A Report

When confronted with the overwhelming sum of money flood the industry, it is difficult to argue that the future is going to be anything but renewable-powered.

Renewable energy largest myth goes bust

In late December, RMI declared that construction started on a three MW solar project at New Mexico which will sell its electricity below 4.5 pennies per kilowatt-hour. This cost is formally the cheapest reported contract for spread photovoltaic solar energy throughout the whole U.S., beating coal costs that average 6 cents and upwards per kilowatt-hour and competing with gas costs averaging 4.2 cents and upward, based on Lazard.

But wait, there is more. This month, Colorado utility firm Xcel Energy obtained"shockingly lower bids" for power from renewable resources. Just how shocking?

If these tales tell us something, it is the false fantasy of"pricey renewables" is well and truly dead. Not only will the low-carbon market be better for your environment, but it's going to be better for power customers too.

This milestone means that corporate-backed renewable jobs power the equivalent of over 7 million houses. As well as more companies make the option to purchase renewable energy to power their operations, the marketplace is reacting to empower smaller, more compact organizations to transact also.

In the last year, companies purchasing renewables ranged from high tech players like Google and Facebook to heavy industrials like Cummins and automobile manufacturers like General Motors. Combined, these companies and their peers contracted for 3.11 GW of electricity this past year, the second-best season for corporate renewable energy purchasing.

It is important to understand that these businesses purchase renewables not because they need to, but since it is great for business.
