Stephen says: "Celebrate your achievements in the garden, and
celebrate them often!"
Growing plants is a lot of fun, but it does take work and you
deserve to celebrate your accomplishments.
Here are a few suggestions on how to celebrate your
garden!
- April is National Garden Month. Celebrate by throwing a garden
party! Consider inviting your neighbors or friends with similarly
aged children over to make it feel more like a true garden party.
Choose a theme, bring out the decorations, and host a garden party
to celebrate the coming of Spring and the amazing garden you've
grown together.
- Take advantage of "gardening moments" with your kids every day.
This could be something as simple as weeding/watering your plants
together, or doing a fun craft project on a
rainy afternoon. Through the seasons there are little opportunities
to celebrate gardening that can fit seamlessly into your life.
- Help turn your kids' questions into fun discoveries. This could
mean pointing out a new bud on a plant, or talking about how a
green zebra differs from a san marzano.
- Have a "pollination party". Have kids dress up like bees and
then pretend to "pollinate" the plants in the garden. Fairy wings
and wands definitely encouraged.
