How To Use This Guide

This Guide has five sections and is laid out in the following format:

  1. Introduction: Some background on Stephen Ritz and How To Use This Guide. (This is the section you're reading right now).
  2. Plan: You've read the intro, now it's time to make your plan. This section walks you through how to choose the type of garden project you're going to do, the supplies and tools you'll need, and even provide you with a few ideas for sample projects.
  3. Plant: The fun part! This is where you get your hands dirty by planting your garden. We give you instructions for planting indoors and outdoors.
  4. Maintain: This is the not-as-fun (but necessary, and still kind of fun) part. This section will show you how to care for your garden, whether it's indoors or outdoors.
  5. Celebrate!: One of the most important parts of planting a garden is celebrating it! This section provides a few suggestions for how to make sure you have the most fun possible with your garden projects.

As you read through this Guide, remember that there isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to plant a garden. Variables like the age of your children and size of the available space in your home or yard will affect the type of garden project you take on, so embrace those unique characteristics and build a garden that fits your life.

Now: let's get started!
