The Cannabis Act (the Act), also known as Bill C-45, is an act
introduced to Canadian Parliament in 2017 that would legalize
cannabis nationwide, when combined with Bill C-46, An Act to Amend
the Criminal Code. As such it is a milestone in the legal history
of cannabis in Canada, alongside the 1923 prohibition.
With this legislation, Canada is set to become the first country in the G-7 to fully legalize Cannabis. The expected date for the Bill C-45 to pass is in late summer, 2018.
