The Problem

We live in a world of quick fixes and fad diets. We want our cake and we want to eat it too. How is this working out? Not well for most people. As a society in North America, we are very ill. There are several factors involved in this phenomenon, if you want to call it that, and one of those factors is not the presence of too much fat in our diet.

Since the early 1900s and especially in the past 50 years, we have become sedentary. That’'s right, many of us are “"chained”" to a desk all day and then we often go home to another desk (the one with our computer on it) or to sit in front of the television. That lack of daily and rigorous physical activity has contributed greatly to our ill health.

However, the greatest contributor to our poor level of health is by far our indulgence in refined products. When most people think of fast food they think of the drive-thru and the burger joint, but fast food is found in your home as well. Fast food is anything that comes out of a package and that is meant to “"make our lives easier.”" If you are a busy professional, then you might be very familiar with convenience foods.

Nearly all of this convenience or fast food is so high in refined sugars and grains that the nutritional value is stripped from them and they are very difficult for our system to handle. In many countries around the world, countries in which the consumption of meat and dairy is commonplace, the incidents of heart disease are lower than in North America. However, nowhere in the world do people consume refined products the way we do here.

On top of this, we have been told repeatedly for decades that fat is bad. Stay away from fat at all costs. Only now are we beginning to see the folly of our ways when it comes to fat. I’'ll talk more about fat later. Right now I want to tell you about a diet that will revolutionize your way of life and your way of eating and give you exactly what you need to create the body you want.

Before I get into the details of the diet, I want to tell you that we know you are busy. You don’'t have time for fancy diets or cooking extra meals besides the ones the rest of your family is already having. You barely have time for the gym, but you know how important it is so you fit it in. Let’'s not add additional food requirements that will create an unreasonable demand on what precious time you have left.

Yet, you have to do what the experts say and so you have taken on a low-fat, high-carb diet that is supposed to give you everything you need. Does it deliver? Sadly, the answer is no. What you end up with is a high amount of carbs that helps to pack on body fat along with the muscle mass you are trying to build. Then, when you are ready to cut, a lot of the muscle mass goes as well.

You can get by for a while on the high-carb diet, but in the end the best you will get is that you will plateau and the worst is a loss of lean body mass. In addition to this, you will probably feel terrible, irritable, and downright awful.
