Now that you have a list of problems and ideal solutions, you need to figure out what your app is actually going to do. We organized our different airline app solutions into different categories of functionality; each category represented a potential app. We then decided which category to pursue: presenting the user with the information they need in and around the flight experience.
After deciding what kind of app we wanted, we narrowed down exactly what functions we wanted in the app and defined our app in a sentence.
To be honest, we could have exercised more restraint and eliminated a few of the items in this definition in order to focus the app even more. As we got into the interaction design, we did end up doing some more elimination.
