Basecamps need to be convened on an intimate scale (perhaps 60-120 people), in order to enable a meaningful mixing of people in a short time together (1-2 days).
It would also make sense to come together on a larger scale, in order to:

Design Concept
The present design concept (see image) imagines a mainstage and peripheral stages.
The mainstage features a dialogue by a pair or panel, and somehow involves the audience. The main stage is a space for dialogue (participants lean in).
The peripheral stages are occupied by "experts" in various fields. They are spaces for enriching the main stage with knowledge (participants reach out)
Integration with re•base
Table Champions, Expedition Leaders and basecamp participants are the first candidates to supply the "talent" on the mainstage and to be the "experts" on the peripheral stages.
They would be paid for their appearances on the mainstage and peripheral stages.
Participants in the festival can become members in re•base.
Profits from the festival go toward funding basecamps and re•base.
Implementation
We are partnering with Real World Media to do the first festival. It is an established music recording and music festival company that focuses on world music and independent artists. Real World Media has been organizing large-scale music festivals around the world for the past 30-40 years (principally, the WOMAD series of world music festivals).
When is the right time in the birth/growth of this community to convene a "summit" - a festival of Expeditions?
Who in the network has experience in organizing or financing large-scale events?
Who in the network is interested in being involved? (in any way: volunteer, organizing team, investor, festival participant, "talent" on one of the stages, etc...)
