Poker is a game where players bet they have the best 5-card hand to win the "pot" - all the money or chips (or whatever items you're using to bet with) that any players have wagered on the hand. You can play for fun, sure, but it's even more fun to have bragging rights and maybe a little more money than you came in with at the end of the game.
