This section will introduce you to the core elements of an
effective Facebook page. Like any other aspect of building a
community online, Facebook Pages rely heavily on creating social
proof and trust.
For example, Coca-Cola does a great job creating a sense of
community around their product page shown here:
Some of the core elements here are:
- A current promotions banner that features, happy, young
customers as well as the company logo;
- The profile picture is of the core product;
- Their page description is factual and clear;
- The first 4 main boxes are of Photos, their likes (over
80m!!!), Events and Videos which give the sense that they care for
it and update it often (remember communities are created around
active and engaging brands).
- Finally the attention to detail in adding important dates to
take advantage of Facebook's timeline feature along the right hand
side give another kind of social proof - that this company is
successful and had been busy building a community people are happy
to be apart of for a very long time.
We'll explore all these elements and more and break down exactly
how you can take advantage of them to build your community.
