Purpose - This section provides a compliance path that is straight forward for designers by establishing minimum requirements for thermal resistance values of building assemblies.

Requirements are based on the HDD18 value of the proposed building location, which can be found in Division B Appendix C Table C-2. HDD stands for Heating Degree Days (18 C) and it represents how often and by how much the outdoor temperature get colder than 18 degrees Celsius.
