If you could change something about the way we currently work and collaborate what would it be?

The creation of a Community Builders Team comprised of Change (People) Management and ILDP is part of our promise to continuously improve the IPO Model and help make an innovative and unique delivery of the Program. Throughout the "community building" process we aim to build cohesive teams, where a psychological safety net allows team members to express their thoughts and opinions and to work effectively as a team. Trust will develop as team members begin to work with each other across the diverse roles and responsibilities of the team. Trust across responsibilities will help us better reach common goals and objectives as a team.

There are a few practical lessons learned from our first year of collaboration within the IPO. Meetings can have better outcomes if we strive to have a clear agenda reflecting the goals and objectives of the meeting. Meeting attendees who receive documentation well in advance will come prepared for the discussion and be better able to contribute and resolve problems.

Another practical and important communications tip is to consider the purpose and response required when typing an e-mail. This consideration will determine who you send the email to ("OPI") and who you cc (for information purpose only). Always best to hold off sending emails that may be interpreted incorrectly, or better yet, have a discussion with the person instead of sending emails.
