Background Events or Issues

  • This background information is meant to set the context of events and issues that have led to the Key Challenge. The assumption of the Innovation Expedition is that "without appropriate context it is difficult to gain commitment."
  • A word of caution-too much information can be confusing. A useful guide would be to include a minimum of three bullets and a maximum of ten.
  • Additional information can be referenced in appendices or on the group's website for those who wish more detail. The background events should end with some summation statement, which links the background events clearly to the Key Challenge which is now being addressed.

Note: At this point in your template you invite the participants to use an attached Feedback Form to provide their reactions (comments, questions, suggestions) to the Key Challenge and the Background.
