June 2017 Clean Air Council Meeting - Public Engagement
Environmental Education Inventory
This workshop brought together municipalities, Ecoschools Ontario, Environmental School Reps, community groups and other stakeholders working to promote environmental education and activities in schools within their communities. In the fall of 2016, the Clean Air Council members worked with Clean Air Partnership to develop an inventory of the wealth of environmental resources, programs, events and field trip activities that are being promoted/delivered by municipalities and others.
Workshop participants explored:
- How the inventory can be made most useful to teachers and school EcoTeams;
- How the inventory can be kept up to date in an efficient and effective way;
- Opportunities to transfer and expand the environmental programs available; and
- Gaps in environmental programing and interest in working together to address those gaps
