RULE #1: DEFINE WHO YOU ARE
"YOU'VE GOT TO FIND YOURSELF FIRST. EVERYTHING ELSE'LL FOLLOW." - CHARLES DE LINT
We recently spoke about the importance of providing value to others. Understanding and defining who you are is a crucial part of providing value. In this case, defining who you are means knowing which skills, talents, and knowledge you bring to the table. Having a firm grasp on who you are in this sense will make it easier to see opportunities for providing value to others.
By taking the time to do this, the knowledge will be readily accessible for you at the conference. Use the worksheet below as an aid to come up with what you love to do, successes you've had, skills you have, and how you can add value to others. All of these can be anything. Don't sabotage yourself into thinking you aren't valuable or don't have many skills to share with others. Chances are, you're wrong. This is your time to brag about yourself. Have fun with it.
