People truly are fascinating. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "In my walks, every man I meet is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from him." We are all students and teachers of one another. When you fall in love with people, you open yourself up to what they can teach you. In turn, you give them your undivided attention, which makes them feel like they're the only person in the room. You probably know how this feels; it's a feeling of importance and appreciation.

When you fall in love with people you inevitably act as a host towards them. If you want people to have a good time meeting you, you need to have a good time meeting them. Susan RoAne, author of How to Work a Room: The Ultimate Guide to Making Connections In-Person and Online, writes that according to research on shyness, 90% of people are uncomfortable in a group setting. This means nearly everyone around you is just as nervous as you are. Now that you know this, your job becomes making others in the room feel comfortable. The more you make others feel welcome and comfortable, the more they will want to be around you.
