How Do Scientists Discover?

Every scientist has the same job - to venture beyond the current limits of all human knowledge. They set off in a direction, not knowing if they'll sail over the end of the world or strike a new, fertile land.

How?

They look at the existing evidence, they look at options that seem reasonable and within their means (experiments are expensive in science) and then - they follow their hunch and let the results tell them the next step.
