How To Be Wrong

Indulge yourself. Write down every feature, product and solution idea you have.

Now, beside each, write down the customers' preexisting goal or job-to-be-done that each solution addresses.

Then, beside each of those, write down every type of perfect customer for each of those goals. Be as specific as possible.

Now go find 5 of those customers, and ask them how they acheive that goal now. Don't let your ideas come into it.

Go back to the list, cross off where you were wrong, where they really don't care - or are fine with what they've got. Repeat the exercise with your new insight.

Doesn't it feel good to learn so quickly, and get rid of all that idea baggage?
