Scientists know the value of peer review. The same works for
startups - it's called Braintrust.
Braintrust is a way to help ourselves progress quickly with
regular learning goals and sanity checks. (It's not for ideation or
pitching.)
Regular peer feedback helps us see the big picture and stay on
track. Hearing the results of our own advice helps improve our own
thinking.
Grab 3 founders you trust - but with varying mindsets. Meet
every week or two weeks, for exactly an 32 minutes. You each have 8
minutes.
The first 3 minutes is to present Learning Progress - what did
you want to learn, what information did you collect, what did you
conclude and what do you want to learn next?
The group gives feedback for the remainder of the 8 minutes.
They focus on risks, learning goals &methods and environmental
awareness (like competition, tools & contacts.) They don't
address your business idea itself, just your learning goals,
methods and results.
