All businesses are different, but below is a list to get you started:

• Contest / giveaway (warning: people have become skeptical of these)
  
• Limited time on a "pro" (upgraded) plan
  
• Whitepapers
  
• Surveys (participants receive the results)
  
• Free "assessment" of some kind
  
• Early access to your product (if it's in limited access mode)
  

Take some time to brainstorm lots of different ideas. Enter your ideas in the same spreadsheet as the prior steps and rank each one using the same ranking (cost, effort, outcome).
