Visualize The Next Few Years

Having been through this guide, you probably learned a lot about yourself and your business.

Take some time to think about what you want your business to look like two or three years from now. How big is it? How many employees do you have and how much annual revenue is it generating? Are you still in the same industry or have you expanded? Do you have the same product or multiple products? Are you in one locale, or expanding nationally or internationally?

And what do you want to be doing? Honestly, deep down inside, how would you like to be filling your days? Do you want to spend it talking to customers and attracting more of them? Would you prefer to work on the product? Maybe you love innovation and would like to be focusing on upcoming trends.

This is a good time to start thinking about what kind of business you want to build based on your life goals. Write down your ideas - just brainstorm - but write down tangible goals such as:

  1. I want the company to be generating $10M per year
  2. I want to have 50 employees and two offices
  3. I want to break into another vertical in our industry
  4. I want to be the market leader in XYZ
  5. I want to own a boat
  6. I want to earn $300k per year

etc...

Take a few days to think about this - preferably away from your business. Really visualize what you want to be doing, what you want your business to look like. It should guide you on some of your next decisions.
