• Build consumer and industry understanding of the full value of an energy evaluation and the EnerGuide Rating System rating and label.
• Facilitate building consumer market demand for home energy evaluations and energy labelling
services.
• Support energy advisor industry training to enhance industry delivery capacity (in both number of
energy advisors and accessibility in different regions).
• Support implementation of voluntary energy labelling programs to enhance capacity for
mandatory programs.
• Take leadership in BC for advancing the Canada Buildings Strategy goal of requiring labelling of
building energy use by as early as 2019.
• Continue to support local governments whose focus, effort, and time has been centred on the
implementation of the BC Energy Step Code since fall 2017.
