If your municipality is in the process of developing your climate action plan, that is an ideal opportunity to explore climate and equity synergies. But what if your municipal climate plan has already been developed and it does not address equity? There is no need to re-do the climate action plan. Instead, many municipalities have worked with a partner to apply an equity lens to the plan and identify opportunities to incorporate equity into the climate action implementation.

A number of municipalities have undertaken an equity review to achieve that goal. An equity review can help refine and reshape your plan and offer suggestions for improvement. Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and Regina have worked with community partners to apply an equity lens to their climate action plans.
