Northwest Territories Association of Communities Climate Change Forum, 2018 (Northwest Territories)

Overview:

• The Northwest Territories Association of Communities organized a climate change forum in 2018 that brought together 166 attendees from across the NWT and beyond

Outcomes:

• Attendees included community representatives; Indigenous, territorial and federal governments and organizations; NGOs; technical experts; researchers; funders; and students
• The interactive forum led to a climate strategy and action plan; several resolutions; more dialogue among governments, communities and climate partners; and a wave of new projects
• Forums such as these are particularly impactful for bringing together diverse sectors, forming partnerships, and resulting in clear actionable plans
