Objectives:
- co-developing, with key stakeholders, an electric vehicle transition strategy for Toronto
- developing an electric vehicle charging infrastructure strategy
- identifying best practices in electric vehicle preparedness planning in major North American cities to ensure equitable outcomes for all residents
- launching quick start projects to test the implications of electric vehicle use for the local grid
- exploring how electric vehicles could enhance community resilience
2017 - Prepare for Electric Mobility Campaign
Objectives:
- To seek Council approval to implement Residential On-street Electric Vehicle (EV) charging
- Updates/results from previous EV pilot projects
- Provide current status of Federal, Provincial and City policies
- EV best-practices
- Discuss challenges/opportunities in regards to EVs
Consolidated Green Fleet Plan (2014-2018)
Objectives:
- Purchase, lease, or otherwise obtain the most fuel-efficient vehicles (considering the life cycle cost of the vehicle)
- Achieve ISO Certification in the area of Environmental Management
- (ISO 14000) and Quality Management (ISO 9000) for Fleet Services Division, and explore the feasibility of ISO Certification for the other City Fleets
- Develop selection criteria for alternative fuels
- Enhance operational efficiency and driver education
