NYC EV Adoption Plan
Goal: To discover what the City and other stakeholders could do to facilitate early adoption of EV technology, and makes several recommendations relevant to EV policy-making and deployment.
Strategic Directions:
- Determine potential "early adopters" of electric vehicle (qualitative/quantitative surveys).
- Recommend possible steps the City and other stakeholders could take to enable EV adoption.
NYC EV Readiness Plan
Goal: To formulate a plan for EV charging and infrastructure deployment in New York City.
Strategic Directions:
- Determining new parking facilities
- Finding a pathway for economically sustainable curbside charging
- Reducing the electricity costs of overnight charging
NYC's EV Fleet Policy
Goal: Achieve a 50 percent reduction in GHGs from fleet operations below 2005 levels by 2025 and an 80 percent reduction by 2035.
Strategic Directions:
- In 2013, New York City Council passed into law a requirement that 20% of future parking spots be pre-wired for charging stations.
- Add 2,000 electric vehicles (EVs) to its municipal vehicle fleet by 2025.
- Engagement with Private Taxi Companies to support the transition to ZEV.
- Adopt best practices in fleet management.
