NOTES

Flaming combustion is the process occurring when visible flames and plume of a fire are visible.

A flame is the visible, luminous body where the oxidation reaction is occurring. [G&P, p. 72]

In flaming combustion, the fuel is in the gas phase. The reactions and heat release occur in the gas adjacent to the liquid or solid surface.
