In summary, there are four main stages of fire growth:
- Incipient- slow HRR growth.
- Fire Growth - transition slow to fast HHR growth.
- Full Room Involvement - high HRR, steady state.
- Decay - reducing HRR.
Additionally there are a number of important events including:
- Ignition - Heat, Fuel and Oxidizer come together.
- Established Burning - 20Kw, likely to grow.
- Flashover - Very high HHR growth.
Ventilation can impact the timing and/or actualization of these stages and events.
