Savasana is a resting pose. It allows the body and the mind to acclimate to the strength and openness we've developed during the practice.
Begin by tucking the tailbone, bringing the lower spine in contact with the mat, feeling fully supported in the lumbar spine. Let the legs straighten onto your mat. Let the feet fall away from each other.
Next, tuck the chin gently to lengthen the neck. You may choose to place a blanket under your head for comfort.
Finally, wriggle your shoulders back and down, bringing the upper spine in contact with the mat. This action also broadens the chest.
Turn the palms upwards and close the eyes.
Release ujjayi breathing. Be still and comfortable, enjoying the sigh of your practice.
