Thematic areas

What are thematic areas?

Thematic areas provide a simplified view of traditional sectors in the economy, grouping sectors along the value chain (from primary to secondary to tertiary) that relate to the delivery of a given system.

Thematic areas are pertinent to the circular economy either because they are inherently materially intensive (such as the Built Environment) or because they hold opportunities for circular business models and rethinking consumption and production (such as Food Systems).
