How do sectors relate to the thematic areas?

Circular economy strategies typically take place across a value chain and consist of collaborations between multiple traditionally defined sectors.

Our thematic areas are selected based on how relevant they are to circular economy strategies. Please find, per thematic area, the list of ISIC sectors that we consider to fall under these thematic areas.

Example: Built Environment

The following table shows an extract of all the ISIC codes related to the Built Environment thematic area. There are codes from extraction (quarrying and mining) through to the manufacture of building products; from the whole traditional construction sector and through to related services such as real estate.
