Wireframes

Wireframes are visual representations of each screen of your app, but do not have (and even try NOT to look like) full aesthetic treatments in place to make it look beautiful. Typical wireframes usually have big, thick outlines, no color, and no real font treatment.

The idea is that you can understand what's going to be there and what it's supposed to do, but you won't be getting too attached to it because it took very little time to create.

There are dozens of great tools out there that help you quickly create wireframes for your product.Balsamiqis one we see frequently, but our designers use Illustrator to create their own custom wireframes.

The key to achieving great wireframes that demonstrate the full vision of your product is to think of every interaction that a user would take. The key questions to answer at every step are,

  • What would the user expect?
  • Will the user understand the flow of the app?
  • Are there buttons that lead to extra steps?
