Some gaming concepts that will form and adapt to the Guides gameplay:
Missions/Expansion
- Complete missions as you level up to earn extra game areas (topics/regions), tools (power-ups) :: Players starting on one topic region per type (Energy Efficiency, Bio-hacking) to then "unlock" expansions to move to other related regions (Home performance, Subdermal implants). This process is to make sure that players know about the macro area before going specific.
Text-Based
- Text-based games offer text updates and activity. This can be of inspiration for Guides' notifications system. Not having a list to go through, they are context based and limited in time, popping up in the Guides landscape in real time (see persistent game environment)
- text-based prompts can also guide players through quests
Open-world "breadcrumb" guidance
Needed to know where to go and how to move in the space. Literally a pointer in the map.
Superhero / Superheroine
A superhero or superheroine is a stock character that possesses superpowers, abilities beyond those of ordinary people, and fits the role of the hero, typically using his or her powers to help the world become a better place,... (Everyone in Guides can become "super").
