Usage, Revenue, & Growth

The Guides platform has evolved significantly over the last five years - from a publishing platform (2014), to a business documentation platform (2016), to the current hybrid model (2017). Over the last two years we have worked with many different customer types ranging from individuals and authors to corporations, government, and whole industries. These interactions enabled us to learn about our customers' pain points, refine our value proposition, and develop the product features necessary to achieve "market fit".

Current Usage Metrics (since 2017):

  • 9 Million guide sessions
  • 234 countries accessing guides
  • 150,000 registered users
  • 10,000 organization (group) hubs

Given our hybrid model of SaaS and publishing platform, plus the longer format guides, our usage metrics are much higher than most content platforms (like Medium, Facebook, etc..):

  • 5.36 pages per session (8.4 for registered users)
  • 8:52 average session (18:22 for registered users)
  • 15% bounce rate

Revenue

Guides.co revenue has grown on average of 160% every year since we adopted the current revenue model in 2016. However, over the last three years a portion of our revenue (~60%) has been from professional services helping companies convert their content. In the future we plan to partner with agencies to provide this service for companies and focus exclusively on growing usage and software license revenue.

Based on our growth model, we anticipate scaling revenue significantly over the next six years:
