Primary Space of a Guide

A key feature of Guides.co is to make the same live document, a Guide, available to many different groups by adding to multiple Spaces. Often guides are administered by more than one person, which makes the initial space within which a guide is created -- or the "primary space" -- very important.

Before creating a Guide, think of the following items to determine which Space you should start the Guide from:

  1. Who is the audience for this Guide? Is it for the whole organisation, or for sub-group (like a specific team or a group of clients)? If so, you may want to create a new Space first.
  2. Who else may need to edit / manage this guide? If you would like others to edit the Guide, consider starting it in a space they have access to, or creating a new space for this purpose.
  3. Are there privacy / control issues? You may want to create a private "master" Space for your organization where core guides are initiated, but can then be added to other spaces. For example, you could create a "master guide" in one space, add it to one or more different space later.

If you start a Guide in the wrong Space or want to change the origin Space, you can always update it in the Guide Settings.
