Your posture and gestures communicate more than your words. A good presentation has to do more than share information. The presenter has to convince the audience and to do that takes credibility in the minds of the audience members.
Pay attention to how you use your hands. Sometimes every little thought gets emphasized with the same hand gesture or each point gets capped off with hands on the hips.
Do look for ways to emphasize your points with gestures or changes in your posture. But, make conscious choices about what to do and when.
If the speech calls for it, demonstrate something. Speaking on fitness? Demonstrate a burpee (look it up on YouTube).
Some speakers lean on/hide behind the podium. You don't need to hold down the podium or, we hope, to keep yourself upright. Walk around a bit, and speak from memory.
Looking confident and at-ease with everything will make a positive impression on the audience.
Standing behind the podium and looking at note cards every 10 seconds does not give a favorable impression.
