Many speeches require a slide show, or could be improved by one. Knowing how to use PowerPoint correctly can be a huge help. Just stick with simple slides with three or four facts, a chart, or a quote. Use big, simple fonts on simple backgrounds.
Things to Do:
1, Pick a simple, clean style for your slides. Black text on a white background, with a small logo or image somewhere on the slide.
2. One point per slide - you can list three or four supporting statistics, but not a whole table with 12 rows and five columns.
3. Create clean charts and graphs - Go easy on colors, labels, numbers, and explanation. (Save the latter for your speech.)
4. Use BIG fonts - 20 points for the main text and 36 points for the title text would probably be a minimum.
