The Importance Of Accuracy

Accuracy every step of the way is crucial for all the aforementioned positions. I recently attended a conference at Columbia University called "Women in Media," where panelists discussed a wide range of topics, one of the most important being the significance of accuracy.

If you're a writer and you consistently produce inaccurate information, this may be overlooked if you're just starting out and have a small readership. Once you have more of a following, your readers will no longer overlook errors. If your errors are consistent, you will lose readers and potentially your job.

Don't report information you have not fact-checked, and do not create any sort of graphic containing false or incorrectly reported information. If you find that you have, immediately correct your mistakes.

One resource for finding accurate data is Google Trends, which can help you find data that meets your needs. Give it a shot!
