I do not mean peanuts. A peanut is actually a legume, which, while delicious, doesn't pack the same nutritional punch. Nuts like almonds and cashews are full of protein and unsaturated fats, which, in moderation, can be heart healthy and help you keep a trim waistline.
Speaking of which: Brazil nuts contain selenium which is a natural weight loss aid. Don't go buying Whole Foods out of stock though. Stick to the recommended serving size, as always.
As for nut butters, someone at Whole Foods woke up one day and decided that the peanut shouldn't be the only nut available in spreadable form. Almonds and sunflower seeds come in butter form at most health food stores. Go nuts! (I couldn't resist)
