CPR is needed when a child is encountering a cardiac or breathing emergency. Check the child and make sure that the area around them (and you) is safe. Tap them on the shoulder and make sure that they actually do need your help.

CPR assists in helping the heart continue to beat through the use of chest compressions, and will provide air into the lungs of the child if they are no longer breathing.
