Watering is often not needed in spring due to frequent rainfall. During a dry year or especially hot summer months, it's a good idea to water frequently. *
Get yourself a good hose and watering can to quench the thirst of your plants. A quality spray nozzle with adjustable settings is a nice addition to a hose, giving you the lithe grace of a ribbon-dancer.
*Don't over-water. Nice and damp. Not soggy. If it's raining a lot, don't water. If it's not raining at all, water every day. If it's raining sometimes, water sometimes. If leaves are wilting, don't worry. They're not dead as long as they're not bone dry. They'll perk up again with a soaking.
