Custom Building Your Six Pack

That six pack that you're craving for will never come in isolation. A tight, ripped mid section is part of a total package. That's because it is impossible to spot reduce fat from your body. When it comes off, it will do so proportionately from the whole body, not just the midsection - and it doesn't matter how may crunches you do!

We need to be thinking, then, of reducing our overall body fat levels in order for our abs to be revealed. To figure out how much to lose we need to start analyzing our body composition. And to do that we need to work out how much fat we're actually carrying. The scale won't tell you - unless it's able to calculate your body fat percentage. Neither will ideal weight charts because they don't take lean muscle mass into account. Same thing with Body Mass index (BMI). These methods are absolutely useless indicators of your body's composition. The only reliable way to figure out how much body fat you're carrying is to have your body fat percentage measured. That's why, on this program, you'll be measuring your body fat levels every week.

To make life easy, we seriously recommend investing in a set of scales with body fat measuring capability. Failing that, check out this clip on how to do the job the old fashioned way with body fat calipers . . .

What Body Fat Level will Reveal my Abs?

Although everyone distributes body fat differently, most guys will be sporting a chiselled six pack as between 8 - 11 % body fat. For women the figure is slightly higher - 10 -1 4 %. Those numbers should allow you to set your ultimate body fat percentage target.
