Step #3 - Get a programmable power strip

Phantom power consumption refers to the power used by devices that are plugged in, even when they are not turned on. Everything that is plugged into an outlet will consume a little bit of power, and some devices use more phantom power than others. You can cut back on some of that pointless consumption by plugging your devices and appliances into a programmable power strip.

Those can be programmed to run on a timer or to shut off during your sleeping hours. That makes it easier to eliminate that phantom power consumption during the times that those devices are least likely to be used.
