Setting Up Pinterest Boards

On Pinterest, boards are a way to group your pins into themes or categories. You can have as many boards as you'd like. Other Pinterest users can follow your individual boards, or can follow you as a user in general.

Set up boards that reflect your business. Here are a few examples of the types of boards you might create on Pinterest:

  • Company updates (news, product releases, events)
  • Infographics / statistics
  • Inspirations (images and quotes that relate to your industry)
  • Employee board
  • Customer board
  • Favorites board (share your favorite pins from other users)

Pinterest Board Tips

Board name: Pinterest will often recommend default board names. Three of the most popular are "For the Home," "My Styles," and "Products I Love," though there are many more. Avoid using these default names, as your boards will be lost in an ocean of others with the exact same titles. Instead, choose short, descriptive titles that state the theme of the board, and incorporate your business name whenever possible.

Board description: Once again, these descriptions are opportunities to help more people find your Pinterest content. Don't skip over this field -- use the space to write an engaging, keyword-rich description for your board.
