Online video can be a fantastic way to increase product sales. In fact, a video that I made about four years ago is still one of the largest lead generators I have for one of my companies. Video allows the viewer to get to know you a little better and feel that personal connection - even if they never actually meet you in person.
When creating your information products, there are a few ways that video can fit in. Here are some of those ideas:
• Talking head video - this would simply be a video of you talking about the product infomercial style.
• Demonstrative video - in this video, you might want to demonstrate an application of the knowledge found in your e-book. Screen capture something on your screen or share some of the information and solve a problem.
• Testimonials video - in this video, you would have some of your reviewers / readers / biggest fans talk about how the information product helped them and what their business looks like today.
Videos are excellent additions to squeeze pages and sales pages and it's been proven that they help convert more prospects into customers. The best part is that you don't need fancy equipment and a high-priced video editor to do your videos either. Simply shoot them with a Flip camera (or other video camera), load them onto your computer and do some light editing using iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, export it as a video and upload it to YouTube!
Make sure to embed the video onto your sales / squeeze page and into any blog posts you write that are associated with the related information product.
