Step 3: Get Your Employees’ Commitment

You can have the most smartest goals in the world. But if your team won't commit to the challenge, making progress towards the right direction will prove impossible.

To get your employees to commit, don't stop with the "what to do's" and "how to do's." You also want to take the time to explain the why.

Why is attaining this goal or challenge a big deal? Why does it matter?

This aspect of the goal may seem obvious to you, but don't assume that workers can see it from your point of view.

Next, you want to make sure employees have the necessarysituational resources, as researchers put it. Without the budget, technology, and expert advice to back them up, your team will not commit to the challenge.
