Why Career Pages?

Now that we've established that hiring the right people is:
1. Super critical for your company
2. One of the most difficult tasks to do right.

Let's see what are the ways in which you can possibly attract the right people to join your company.

  1. Go around networking in events to tell more people about your company.
  2. Hire a PR agency to focus on just selling your culture.
  3. Publish out posts in your company blog detailing what are the things that set you apart and why should people join you.
  4. Design a careers page that talks about your culture, how you are different, how do you treat people at work, what are your ambitions with the company and what kind of humans do you currently employ.

All the points mentioned above are legitimate. However, do you see what a time/money sucker the first 3 points are? Networking takes time and doesn't come naturally to many introverts. PR agencies are super expensive and might not be able to work with you at the current stage of your company. Blog posts, while super cool, might take your time from your current work and might be a distraction for you from building your product and acquiring new customers.

In this case, having a well designed careers page is a static, unflinching resource that will keep working for you even when you are sleeping.

If you have a careers page that truly reflects who you are as a company, it will be a badge that you can wear for a very long time with little or no changes to it.
