When you start potty training, let your child's teacher or
caregiver know. Potty training requires all-round support and will
not work if you're only potty training part-time. Be sure to share
your child's potty training routine with anyone who cares for your
child whether at a daycare or grandparents. This will prevent your
potty-training routine from being disrupted.
Things to consider:
- Explain the potty training schedule and what works for your
child
- Share the language you use and the tone you take when referring
to pee and poo and accidents so they are on the same page. If
others express disappointment when your child has an accident,
he/she may be reluctant to continue potty training at home.
- Take a potty with you which your child is comfortable
using
- Pack extra clothes and shoes in case they have an accident when
they are away from home
