Guest Blogging Builds Momentum

Similar to collecting insights from industry leaders, guest blogging is a fantastic way to steal the soapbox on other author's websites. Of course, guest blogging is often a two way street (you should be letting people blog on your site too).

Make a list of industry leading blogs that you would like to be featured on (don't forget to include the personal blogs of the influencers you identified). Once you've built out your list, you can then begin to pitch articles and ideas to blog owners.

When it comes to guest blogging, everything you do should be focused on the host blog's readers, and editorial goals. This is not about you or promoting your Guide. It is, however, about introducing yourself to new audiences. If you can, work insights from your Guide into your guest post, than it may be the perfect opportunity to share your work; however, it's not the main objective of guest blogging. Guest blogging is about audience building, and not selling products.

Make sure you build out related content for your own blog that is similar to the guest post you're publishing on other websites. Having similar content on your own personal blog will encourage new visitors from those sites to further explore your content, and potentially even stumble onto your Guide.

Don't leave new potential customers hanging. Instead, provide them with great content that they can continue to explore well into the future in an ecosystem where you can then promote your content to them, including your Guide.
