When filling in and signing contracts on big items like real estate, if you are ever in doubt about an item of agreement, write it down exactly as you understand it and have all parties initial. A property purchase is not a time for assumptions or verbal agreements.
When in doubt, write it down.
If you're selling your property yourself it's important to know that all fixtures attached to the property automatically sell with the property unless you specifically make an exception in the contract. This includes any and all built in grills, light fixtures (including chandeliers), and built-in shelves or furniture. Anything attached to the property sells with the property.
This creates the correct expectations from the beginning and the buyers aren't going to fall in love with your chandelier and then have their hearts broken when the contract says you'll take it with you. Similarly, if you are willing to leave any appliances or furniture with the house let the buyers know upfront.
