The thermal / heat barrier system is a material that minimizes the transfer of heat from a building (e.g: Insulation).
Criteria for installing the thermal barrier system:
- Often installed within cavities but can be continuous and outside of cavities
- Resistance to heat flow (the higher the resistance value, the slower the rate of heat loss)
- Minimum R-values are required by building codes depending on a buildings location and climate
- When subjected to wind-washing the thermal resistance value can be significantly reduced
